Music in NZ

Hi Paul,
Great site, and glad your doing so well. Ordered the book today, and hope it will give us the info we're after!
Basically the situation we're in is although based in the UK at the mo, we are looking at NZ (visited South Island a few years back and really liked it) but we are just getting so fed up in the UK that we think its time to move, and are looking at North Island / Bay of Plenty area.
Just a quick question before I get the book if I may! My wifes a primary school teacher and I've been self employed for about 8 years, I'm involved in the music industry selling guitars - retail and distribution at the mo. I'm not overly bothered about remaining self employed, would quite happily work for someone else if we came. Would you see any major problems with any applications from the outset? I realise my work isn't worth anything to NZ , but I don't know how highly NZ values teachers!
Thanks for your time.
Kind regards
Ady

Re: Music in NZ

Hey Ady,
good to hear from a fellow musician. NZ values teachers highly but the whole migration process can be a bit of a nightmare with rules changing constantly. Get in touch with Paul Arthur at the Emigration Group, we used them and they were great with us. They are in the links section on this site. Best of luck

Paul

Hi Paul

Thanks for the advice. Will be in contact with Paul very soon!
Funny how a VAT inspection (amongst many other things) can help make your mind up more quickly...
Kind Regards to you all
Ady
