Re: what is the best material for usb hard drive case ?

Are you specifically looking at plastics only?
If you are then I would probably recommend ABS, altough this would be dependant on many other factors such as whether you want to include some kind of shock absorption etc. You will need to design the casing so it allows for cooling. Plastic tends to insulate against heat, where metal conducts so you will struggle to conduct heat away from the drive without some innovative design ideas. I could help you out designing the case if you so require. I could also help you with testing the product.

I spend most of my time managing the testing of plastics mainly within the automotive industry but also support other areas; medical, white goods, electrical.

I hope this is of some use.

Kind Regards

Steve
