Congratulations to all Richmond finishers. It is likely that I saw you during the race. I was one of the Sports Backer coaches that was on the course offering encouragement. If you saw a person in a VT stocking hat, with maroon sleeves, and an orange tank top that was me.
My hometown (Rocky Mount, NC) is very excited to be adding a new race called the First Carolina State Bank Half Marathon.
We have limited traffic control in Rocky Mount, but are lucky to have a great greenway so we could still create a 13.1 mile route that uses both neighborhoods, and shaded but paved trails.
The race is on December 8th. This is a great chance to take advantage of your Richmond training and get in another race. It is low cost, and just two hours from Richmond.
It is on $35 if you enter before 11/15, and includes a medal and a shirt. The course is flat and fast, and will very enjoyable to run.
Take advantage of all of your marathon training, and get in another race in 2007! We have a 5k and kids races too, so bring the entire family for a drive-able low cost event!
