My garmin 305 measured 26.4 as well. I think what may be happening is that while the horizontal accuracy is quite good, elevation is usually 2-3 times worse. This is true for gps in general. If you look at the profile that the gps measured, it is clear that there is a lot of error. I didn't try to calculate it, but I think the garmin is calculating that we did a lot more up and down running than was actually in the course. Regardless, we all ran the same distance from start to finish. |
