AGM Talking Points?
I missed this year's AGM and have not spoken to anyone from my club since it took place. What are the big news stories? Any scandal? Who's up? Who's down? New teams? New rules? And the burning question, did Troon (by some sheer fluke) scrape their way into Division 1 for next season? Not yet sure I will be playing there next season - my agent is currently wading through the pile of offers and bids for me made by a number of big clubs. Let me know what you know. Cheers |

Sorry Mayou, but you will be playing div 2 if you stay with Troon. yourselves and goonhavern 3rds relegated and spice of life, Truro gwrsa coming up to div 1. Goonhavern res will drop into mining 1 from the combo. There were 4 places up for grabs in div 3. pendeen and marazion were up for re-election and were successfull. The other teams voted in were St Buryan res and Falmouth albion. chacewater res, portreath res and a team from four lanes missed out. Last night at the fal/hels Agm fal alb and Carharrack res were accepted in so i guess these two will be pulling out of the mining league, leaving a space for two of the three clubs that didn't get in.

Thinking about it, there were eight clubs wanting a place. I forgot to mention St Ives town 3rds.

I heard that Troon were also accepted into the Fal/Helston. Will that mean there is another space in the Mining League. If so that will make three spaces -Carharrack Res, Falmouth Albion and Troon ?

It's all getting a little confusing. Wish they would just get on and combine the 2 leagues! Does it seem ridiculous to anyone else that the decision on what league to enter almost seems like a political decision? I'm not even sure of what I really think of it myself, but I know it's strange! Troon's AGM is on the 27th June. There it will be decided how many teams we will enter into the leagues. I think realistically we will run with 2 teams, one in the mining league and one in FH3. Mining rules state that if we withdraw a side, it must be the team in the lowest division. So realistically, we will have 1 side in FH3 and one in Mining 2. The 1st Team will probably play Falmouth Helston 3 regardless. Therefore there could be, potentially, another vacancy in Mining 3. Whether we start with 3 teams and pull one if we are struggling for players, or simply start with just 2 sides has yet to be decided! All still yet to be decided, but those were the vibes coming from the last committee meeting. I keep referring to Troon as 'we'. I think it shows my heart still lies with the club - even though I haven't decided whether I'll be there next season. All depends on the players the proposed new managerial team can bring in. Anyway, I'll shut up now! |

Why pull out? It makes no sense? The leagues will merge at the end of the season. Waste of money and petty politics! Grrrrrrrrrrr I am a miserable fart at times! |

I believe current position of Troon is that they will start with the first team playing Mining 2, and the seconds in FH3, with NO third team. This is of course subject to change. Would much rather have 2 teams and have people fighting for their places within those teams, than struggle to put 3 out to the point where you condsider pulling a side out of their league - messes everyone else up - better to give another club a chance to join the league I think. But I don't make the decisions! Anyway, will keep the forum up to date with any changes to our situation as they happen. |
