Division 1: Who's going to win it?

With all the top teams in this divison beating eachother for the first half of the season, who reckons they know who will come out on top? The likes of Threemilestone, Storm, Portreath, Gulval, Praze and maybe one or two others are perhaps feeling it's within reach.

From Gulval's perspective, dropping all 3 points at Gwinear last Saturday could be crucial. They are a tough team to beat at their ground, and we can only hope they give other top teams a good battle when they play them.

Your right Mangle the league is the closest it has been for a long time. I think it will be won by the team who holds their nerve. The way the weather is at the moment games are being called off all the time, this will cause a back log of fixtures come the end of the season and if teans end up playing midweek games it will tight right to the end.

That's a good point. It could work into the hands of some, and against others. There is always an overlap with the cricket season which adds to the end of season mid week match fun. Furthermore, the mid-table and bottom-table teams can end up fielding weakened teams in mid week when their is nothing to play for, and the top teas could benefit from this. Alternatively, a top team could play a mid week match against someone like St. Just or Goonhavern who could end up fielding senior players if their first teams don't have a game.

I don't know what your fixtures are like in the run in to the end of season Mangle but we have all the top half of the league to play. This means we really can crash and burn big time in the second half of the season but of course I hope we keep our act together. I accept what you say about the teams that have teams in higher leagues but I would hope that they keep to their genuine Mining 1 teams in the mid week games but I some how doubt it.
