I had to laugh at the parameters of the birth years of the Indigo Children. "1969 to 1987 with a few stragglers......" I am an Indigo child and I was born in 1940. At least by 1969, there was some idea out in the world that there was a "New Age" movement. In 1940 nobody knew anything and we learned very fast to just keep quiet--that was the only way to survive as children. We were subjected to horrible things to try to make us "right" or normal. As an adult, I, of course, did not keep quiet and to this day all members of my family think that "I am not quite right". I understand it was still tough to be an Indigo child born in 1969, but you should have tried it in 1940. I do not allow myself to be shamed anymore and simply stay away from people who do so out of ignorance or malice. I tell my grandchildren "that I am not like other people" because I have to tell them something to counter the whispers they hear at family gatherings.
I function well in the "real world"; I have a BS in Accounting and am considered to be an excellent account. I walk with a foot in each world and I do it without inner conflict, but it was a very long road to get to where I am now -- and I had to do it myself -- there was nobody else out there at that time.
