Message:   Hi!

I am sure that this is the place to get my question answered, correctly. When my daughters (8 of them!) were little, I used to make them dolls. Dolls, with turning heads, learn to dress me dolls, dolls with outfits which matched the clothing of whichever daughter she was made for, etc. I did, over a course of 30+ years, sew dolls, of virtually every shape and size. I was particularly fond of Carolee Creations Doll Patterns. The girls had 3 very favorite dolls. These were, "Amy", "Trixie Turn Me", and a third whose name I can not remember. She is the problem. I still have the patterns and instructions for the Amy and Trixie dolls. I can not find the pattern from the third. I have one of the dolls I'd made from the pattern, but, she is in pieces. My only son dis-membered her a few years ago. She has spent the last good many years in a box, waiting to be "made whole" again.
After the pieces of the pattern are sewn together, she is a 5 piece doll. The head and torso, are one piece, the legs and arms are each one piece, for a total of 5 pieces. The limbs were attached in such a way that she was poseable, like an old bisque doll, with the metal "pins" holding on straight arms and legs. You know, you could sit with her legs apart, and raise her arms straight up or out in front of her. They were attached somehow by using 4 large buttons, one for each limb, and some heavy duty thread. I have all the pieces, including the original buttons. I can not, for the life of me, remeber or figure out how to attach the arms and legs to the body again. Old age, I guess. The daughter That this particular doll belonged to, now has a little girl of her own. She has just given Emily all of her dolls from her childhood, except the dis-membered doll, which I have in the box. She has now requested that I "fix" the doll, so that Emily may play with it as well. Like I said, she was always one of the 3 favorite dolls. Could someone please instruct me/remind me how to attach the limbs, using the thread and button apperature system, as she was originally constructed? Oh, she is a pretty large doll, probably about 22" tall, when assembled. I don't know if her size is relevant to how she goes together or not.

Thank you, most sincerely, for any assistance you can provide me in solving this problem.
