Col. Awb Norris R.I.P.

I was shocked, and saddened, to learn of the death of my good friend and Honorary Colonel of the 22nd Infantry Regiment, Awb Norris. Awb has been a friend of mine ever since I started corresponding on the internet. I first met him, in person, at our San Antonio Reunion in 2003. He was a delightful person to be around. Awb was Battalion Comander of 2/22, in Vietnam. I didn't have the honor of serving under him, but he was highly respected, and loved, by those who did - Something very few high ranking officers had or deserved. I had the pleasure of sharing a table with Awb at our recent Washington D.C. reunion. I am even more greatful for the opportunity now.

bump to keep a tribute to a truly great man, and soldier, ahead of Duane's inane ranting.

I too did serve under him, but I had the greatest respect for him. Always a good word and a smile for any body. He will be missed.

Re: Col. Awb Norris R.I.P.

I am sorry for your loss, Doc. Maybe you might want to post info on his next of kin so that those who knew him or knew of him could send their condolences. Like an email addie or p.o. box or something. Maybe you could post a pic of him in the photo album if you have one. Just a suggestion. Again, my deepest sympathies. It sounds like he was well liked and loved.
