Greetings area Christian riders,
Oct. 19-21 we'll be riding some of NC's secret roads.
There exists an area in western NC with roads that rival the Gap area....with one major difference....no traffic.
This area (right now) seems to be unknown to most motorcyclists. These roads are so good and so little traveled we won't mention them by name on the web.
If you want to know...you gotta go.
We'll be staying at the Pineola Inn in Pineola, NC.
http://www.pineolainn.com/
Reservations must be made by phone.
E-mail if you'd like to attend.
Only the Gap can compare!
But the roads we're riding have little to no traffic and even less law enforcement.
Once you've been..you'll come back again. (my second trip this year)
This is motorcycling like it was meant to be.
That's Fri-Sun. Oct. 19-21, 2007.
November riding:
The "Last Dance Ride" will be Nov. 17th.
E -mail if you'd like to attend. We'll ride in proximity to those attending.
Thanks to those who attended our Farmville Ride in Sept.
The crowd was light but we had a big time. Attending was Brian (floppyhat) (the other Brian P.)
Donnie Raynor and myself.
I rode to Danville and met Brian at the Hatcher center. Talk about good timing....we pulled into the parking lot at the same time.
Then we headed out on one of my favorite roads Rt.640. I probably should have told Brian there were no loose gravel on the road...the sign's were left/forgotten by VDOT month's ago. He must have thought I was insane heading downhill at 70+ mph on a backroad with loose gravel signs!!
At Mt. Airy, VA we headed down Rt.40 all the way to Keysville. Then it was north on 15 to Farmville where we met Donnie.
From Farmville it was a few more miles on ...Oh so boring 15 till we got on Rt.56...an excellent road and we followed that to the upper end of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
The upper end of the Parkway was all but deserted...as usual and we had some good riding there too.
Then...there was lunch...The same restaurant that was closed on the last Farmville ride but reopened was now closed again....so we took 501 through the VA Dragon and went to Otter Creek on the BRP.
From there the ride split up. Donnie headed back up to RT.60 for the ride home. Brian and I took 501 to Lynchburg and the 29 south.
We had a blast and it just goes to show...there are still plenty of good motorcycle roads with little traffic if you look for them.
Thanks to those who attended.
Hope to see each of before the years out.
Email to attend either the OCT Road Trip (Oct19-21) or the Nov. "Last Dance Ride" (Nov.17th).
your brother in Christ....
