Message:   Max Charbonneau was wrongfully arrested in Haiti last July while visiting his parents who are missioning in Haiti. Max was only 19-years-old at the time of his arrest. He has been detained without formal charges since July 2006 for allegedly plotting to kidnap a young Haitian girl. His family has been working around the clock to have him released. I found this letter on their ministry web page. Please pray for Max as he is expected to face the Judge this week. Max will not be permitted to bring a lawyer into the trial, thus it is his own words that will determine the outcome of the case.

Dear friends,

On Friday morning, June 8th, the summons for Max's trial was received by our lawyer, Mr. Brown. This is the official document by which the judge requests a trial. The document is filled with lies, one being that Max admitted to having kidnapped the young woman. Mr. Brown was with Max for the duration of the interrogation conducted by the judicial police in July 2006. Together, they signed Max's statement. It clearly states that Max had nothing to do with these events and he did not admit to the false accusations of kidnapping.

The trial could start as soon as June 11th. We ask you to pray and fast so that Max will be declared innocent and be released. Should he be found guilty Max could face life in prison. During the trial only Max and the judge will be allowed to speak. Our lawyer and Michel will be present.

We know that God will save us from these evil plots. Please pray fervently that God would provide justice.

Michel & Louise Charbonneau
