Yes that is correct!
Lisa Lewis and Tom Sheets
Great Job Guys and Good Luck!
We are not having enough people to come out and qualify so it was voted at the board meeting that 1 and 1 will go in 501 until it picks back up.
I have also been thinking on the next round of doing 1 round. Everyone will pay 10 and play 5 games each and the winner will qualify. So wont be 3 qualifiers and 1 final just 1 big round...I am taking ideas so please give me your thoughts. I really want to make it better for everyone. I really wanted two and two to go rep for the RCDA. So thoughts on this one please! We need more people to come out so more people can go!

Re: ADO
Why 5 games? In the qualifiers isn't 3 games what we play? 5 might stop them and not come since it says on the ADO website that it's 3 games unless you tie. When you tie and then it's best of 5. What if lots of people come, 5 games will take forever and ever and the players will be too pooped for the blind draw. 3 games with 20 peeps makes 60 games - 5 makes 100. wow! my arm, my head, it hurts already...

Re: ADO
60 games is not necessarily true. If there were tons of people that show up, it could be split into brackets. But, you have a good point. Generally speaking, most people like to come out and play everyone. At one time, I was working on a "guideline" that if 1-4 people showed up then you played X number of games. If 5-9 people showed up then you played X number of games. I think the idea of having one playoff is good. I still like the flexibility of being able to determine at the playoffs the number of games that will be played based on the participants.

Re: ADO
Well the number of games is not set but One problem with your playing to many game theory is that we dont have a bunch of people comming out to qualify so I would want ppl to feel like they got there moneys worth.
But if alot of ppl did happen to show up its not set in stone 5 games...we could do 3.
like I said I am taking ideas.
Look for the next round In June

Re: ADO
The only problem that I see with only doing 1 round is that everyone that wants to come, might not be able to make it.... I had planned to try 2 qualify twice this past time but I had things that I had to do and wasn't able to be there. I don't mind paying $10, that's not a big deal but if I don't qualify at one, I do like the opportunity to try again. I enjoy ADO....
Just my thoughts!

Re: ADO
personally, I cant necessarily come on certain weekends, there are more people than just me that have visitation schedules and we are not all on the same weekends when we can play, there are also people who may have to work every other weekend. I agree with Melisia also that if you dont qualify at one its very nice to be able to try and qualify again!!
as far as paying $10 to qualify- I dont mind at all.. its a lot cheaper than paying $110 to go to regionals (which i have done in the past because i couldnt make any of the qualifiers) I think anyone who is serious about wanting to play and try to qualify will pay $10 to play
as far as games go.... In both regionals and Nationals you only play 3 games unless there is a playoff and in a playoff it is NOT the best of 5 games, it is the person who wins 3 games first - you may have a 4-way tie.. e1 plays on the same board.. its the first to win 3 games, then the next, and so on....
so me personally unless everyone is in agreement.. i say just 3 games (if one person says NO.. than it stays at 3)
-my 2 cents

Re: ADO
If i am not mistaken, different regions have the option to have the playoff anyway they want to. They could play 5 games or play 1 game. There are not set guildlines for ADO playoffs. The league does not even have to have a playoff to send anyone. I personally like 5 games if i am playing 4 or lesser people. But i have played in brackets up to 12 with 3 games each. I know the league has set up guildlines for sending the number of people to ADO based on the number of people playing in the playoffs. Low turnout for playouts means less people going to regionals. I would like to see the attention get greater at the playoffs. I dont think charging more money will hurt, but may a shot at sending more people based on the money brought in. I have seen free playoffs with no one showing up. The attention will go up and down no matter what you do the help. Just my thoughts

Re: ADO
We used to play 5 games all the time, and you don't die. I found that it better prepared you for the numerous and sometimes lengthy matches at the regionals(endurance is an important aspect of darts). Of course that was before there were so few people coming out at all (locally or at regionals). I always liked having 3 qualifiers, because it gave more chances to get there, and more chances to play, but maybe a compromise would be helpful...how about having 2. Most folks can make it to 1 out of 2. It also seems like more promotion, and possibly incentives could help. It would be a real shame to see ADO go the way it has for some of the other leagues/locations in our region. Best of luck at the regional and Tom and Liso!
