My Old TCV8

My name is Laurie Bush. I used to be a member of the club, and built an NG TCV8 back in 1986, but sadly had to sell it in about 1990 due to personal circumstances. I am keen to find out if the old “beast” is still on the road, or even in existence. I lived in Harrow, North West London at the time I built the car, but obviously, it could have gone anywhere in the intervening years. I was wondering if the current owner might be a member of the owners club, and if he or she would be able to let me know if the car is still around, and maybe get in touch with me.

I have over the years kept an eye out for the car but have not seen it at any of the kit car shows or indeed in the classified ads or on ebay.

As I said it was a TC V8 and the Registration No. is OSS 771H. It was slightly unusual in that it had doors fitted, and the exhaust was not run in side pipes, but under the car in a single pipe. It also had the standard bonnet sides and top, not the louvered top and cut away sides usually used on V8s.

Thanks in advance

Re: My Old TCV8

Hello Laurie,

The DVLA have a website for checking vehicle status.

This URL works:
http://www.vehiclelicence.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/

Then click 'Vehicle Enquiry' and follow the arrows.

I had a little play, but couldn't find your car - possibly because it was not described as NG, MG or Morris on your Log Book.

Good luck with your search,
John

Hi John

Thanks for the suggestion but I've already tried that. I hope it doesn't mean the "old Beast" has gone to meet its maker........... No not me!

Laurie

Just tried the DVLA site with my TA (on road) and '33 Ford Sedan (on SORN) does not pick up either! No wonder there are so many unlicenced and uninsured cars on the road despite the Big Brother - you can't hide from us advertising.
