BAROSALSA partners with Hector Cuevas & The Boston Latin band
Legendary charanga singer Ronnie Baró now brings his original compositions and arrangements to hs own band BAROSALSA. Ronnie who is an extremely talented song writer and arranger along with being one of the most recorded behind the scenes background singer and percussionist anounces his partnership with Hector Cuevas & The Boston Latin Band.
Ronnie,one of the founders of Africando, was the driving force gathering together the top Latin NY studio musicians to record all but the latest Africando album and has had one or more of his compositions on each of the Africando releases. He composed and sang Trovador, Colombia Mi Corazon, El Que Te Ama Siempre, Carpentero, and Guarachea Mi Chula. He is also featured on albums of Orquesta Broadway, Cubanoson, Sonsublime, Charanga 76, Charanga America, Robert Palmer, Johnny Almendra y Los Jovenes del Barrio and many more.
Ronnie will be playing his own original compositions and arrangements accompanied by The Boston Latin Band. The Boston Latin Band plays authentic salsa, latin jazz, merengue, boleros and danzon for elegant nightclubs, weddings, parties, bar mitzvahs and schools, festivals, resorts and cruises. Hector, owner and percussionist, customizes each musical and educational event to meet the needs of the client. Hector Cuevas grew up in a music-loving family in the Dominican Republic, listening to CUBAN music and getting his percussion start at age 15 with the band of Johnny Ventura. He has played in with the likes of senior Tito Puentes, Eddie Palmieri, Hanzel and Raul, Johnny Pacheco, Eddie Guagua Rivera and many more. "El Nino", Jesus Alejandro Perez, musical genius, was musical producer of CUBARENGUE, the band's first CD made in Montreal. Ronnie and Hector both believe that many aspects of salsa have been lost in its commercialization and this is one of the major reasons for joining forces. Ronnie and Hector are going to bring back the three major aesthetics that are the lifeblood of Afro-Latin music: afrocentrism, improvisation, and storytelling. Together this partnership will produce some of the best and inovative Latin Salsa and Merengue for your dancing and listening pleasure.
Ronnie is also performing now with the following bands as a lead singer and is available to perform for your functions with any of the these great Salsa and Charanga bands.
