GPSMAP 76c not accepting Mapsource Autoroutes, only Viapoints

This is a message I just sent to Garmin Support. If anyone else (60c users, don;t u have the same processors?) is aware of this trouble please let me know:

The unit Does not use predetermined Auto Routes I have made in Mapsource 6.5. If you make an auto route and download it into the unit, it shows as a route you can select...all is normal. But if you select the route and select "Navigate" it immediately shows the status bar and calculates from 0-100%. It does not just plop the route in immediately as predetermined on the PC.

Also, if you select the route and then select "Map it," it shows the correct route, but in a point to point (as the crow flies) format. As if the unit only received the via points and had to make it's own route, and no actual routing data. I've played with the Preferences/Routing section of Mapsource 6.5, but it does not make a difference if I have "Use Auto-routing" or "Use Direct Routes" selected.

So either the GPSMAP 76c is not accepting route information correctly and only letting the via points comes through on a route, or there is a bug in all the versions of Mapsource I have used with the 76c (a couple, can't recall which ones in the past). I'm more inclined th believe the former as friends of mine with their new Garmin Quests.

Any help you can lend would be great as I use this GPS with others in my Motorcycle community while on group rides, and it causes great confusion when the GPS-calculated route does not match the predetermined Mapsource route everyone else is using while riding.

Thanks,

Bryce
