A drabble is a short story in exactly 100 words - no more, no less. It's a great exercise for getting you to focus on exactly whay you want to say, whilst being creative at the same time. Here's one I wrote earlier - can you do it too? Go on, have a go!

‘And.’

‘And?’

‘Just…..and.’

I closed down Instant Messenger and held my head in my hands. Blast it all to hell, I just couldn’t say it. I thought it inside, set myself up with the ‘And’ and then…hesitation, procrastination, consternation. Failed!

Three simple words. I love you. I LOVE YOU!!

Maybe it’s because, despite all indications to the contrary, I might not get a reciprocal ‘I love you.’

And maybe it’s because I’ve never, truly, felt like this before.

And maybe it’s because it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me.

And maybe it’s because I’m utterly terrified.

And…

Just….and

That is pretty **** cool, im going to give it a go but need a red bull first cos im half asleep!

Going to do another one cos i don't like this much but it will do for now.

A hundred words
And so many ways
To say all the things
You’re longing to say
A blank page waiting
To be defaced
The ink of the pen
Is yours to place
A whirl of dilemma
Unsure what to write
Refraining from jotting
An internal fight
But if you consider
The time that this takes
To think of the words
To put them in place
These words could be many
These words could be few
It’s knowing the right words
In which to pursue
My limit is nearing
No goal is reached
Perhaps it’s a lesson
Perhaps one to teach

Wow!! a rhyming drabble - now that's impressive!! I shall think on!

I entered the room, an immediate impenetrable silence fell over those gathered.
“where my red bull at?” I said.
Those gathered exchanged fearful looks, each and every one of them hoping that someone, anyone, would answer.
I sighed, “you fools are beginning to try my patience” and fear rippled through the room, “now where my red bull at!” I said forcefully.
This time one of the short people gathered answered, “keiran” the short person said “we don’t have any red bull, jerri drank it all already”
“NOOOOO!!” I cried.
But then I remembered I had a tin in my hand.

Gofur my red bull! lol that was class at the meeting on monday!

And convey to those reading
What’s there in your head
