ACT I
PROLOGUE
Two families, both of equal high standing,
In bonnie Dundee, where this tale is told,
From an ancient grudge breaks new trouble,
Where gangland blood, makes gangland hands unclean.
From the parents of these two enemies,
A pair of misfated lovers takes their life,
And with their death burry their parents strife.
That naught but the loss of their children,
Could remove and make peace.
So listen up, and witness this tale unfold.











SCENE I. Dundee. The Wellgate bottom floor.
Enter SAMPSON(an obese chav) and GREGORY (a skinny ned), both of the house of Capulet.

SAM – your mental mate! I aint getting no job.

GREG – nah me neither mate, we have enough to do.

SAM – such as?

GREG – take a guess, here comes the Montague boys. . .

SAM – flip them off, if they say nothing then they are a pair o donkeys . . .

Enter ABRAHAM(a muscular chav) and BALTHASAR (a tall ned) both of the house of Montague.

ABE – did you just give me the finger boy?
GREG – I stuck up one finger yes, boy.
ABE – did you stick your finger up at ME? Boy.
GREG – (aside to SAM) will the police blame me if I say yes?
SAM – yes.
GREG – then no I didn’t flip you off, boy, but I did give the finger.
SAM – are you going for it boy?
ABE – me? No man.
SAM – if you are im just as hard as you are.
ABE – not harder?
SAM – well now . . .
GREG – say your harder here comes benevlio!
SAM - yes harder! Il do you you muppet!
ABE – go for it!
They fight
Enter BENVOLIO
BEN – you idiots! Break it up, have you no sense?
Benvolio jumps between the 4 men.

Enter tybalt
TYBALT – whats this ben? A big man like you fighting with these little belters? Come here, and il show you a fight.
BEN – im just trying to calm it down, so curb your anger, or use it to help me break this lot up and restore the peace.
TYBALT – peace? Peace? I hate the word, And I hate your family, so shut your mouth and fight me.

They all fight, and after other people find out about it it kicks off in all the schemes

In the Overgate, where precisely half of the businesses are owned by the Capulet’s, and the other half by the Montague’s, fights have also broken out, indeed there are mass riots all over the city as the citizens are tired of the fighting . . .

Enter lord and lady Capulet
LORD CAPULET – what’s that racket? More fighting? Give me my baseball bat!
LADY CAPULET – why?
LORD CAPULET – just give me it woman! Here comes that old dog Montague and his wife . . .
Enter lord and lady Montague
LORD MONTAGUE – there’s that troublesome Capulet dog and his hideous wife, out of my way woman!
LADY MONTAGUE – don’t woman me sir! And settle down, here comes the polis . . .

Enter Tayside police chief inspector Prince with a riot squad

PRINCE - Rebel’s, breakers of the city peace and law,
Violators and vandals of my streets,--
Do you here me? Listen! you men, you beasts,
With anger in your hearts, that hears no reason,
With blood pouring from your wounds,
If you don’t want jailed, then from those bloody hands
Throw your illegal weapons to the ground,
And hear the sentence of your police chief.
Three public brawls, born from a foolish word,
By you, old Capulet, and Montague,
Have thrice disturb'd the quiet of our streets,
And made Dundee’s good citizens,
Suffer and die in your name,
If ever you disturb our streets again,
Your lives shall pay the forfeit of the peace.
For now theres nothing more to see:
You Capulet; you will come with me:
And, Montague, I will see you this afternoon,
To know the punishment for this case,
Once more, to stay free, all men depart.
