In the face of certain hopelessness
We choose to live or die
Making choices right or wrong
Allows us to get by
As new doors open, old doors close
Yet still we don’t know why
The ones we love with all our heart
Cause pain and make us cry
We need a way to make it through
The degree of hurt is high
We move on, learn to trust again
And that’s how we survive
