First Cruise

I will be going on my very first cruise in less than 4 weeks, and I don't feel prepared at all! My boyfriend and I are going with 7 other friends to the western Caribbean on Carnival Glory. Does anyone have some great tips for what to bring, what to expect, what to avoid etc. We will be visiting Cozumel, Belize City, Riviera Maya and Freeport, Bahamas and would love to do something memorable in these areas. I do not know how to go about booking any excursions as our cruise was booked by one of my friends going with us. Any advice that anyone has would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
