Tours from Ambergris Caye

My family will be vacationing on the Island of Ambergris Caye in late December. We would like to book a few tours on the mainland. I have also noticed that the price of the tours on the Island are very steep. I am thinking of booking through this company.

Is it possible to do the Tikal day trip and make it back to board the last ferry back to Amberris Caye?

Re: Tours from Ambergris Caye

Waking up the first day for the lamanai ruins and river cruise was difficult. That is very true. We boarded the first ferry out of Ambergris Caye at 7:00am. We arrive in Belize City at around 8:00am. There Roberto was waiting for us with a sign. We boarded the van and off we went to the A.TM. - Actun Tunichil Muknal caves. It really was a hard core adventure caving tour. We were a little late out of the caves, so Roberto made it clear that this will be unusual driving so get buckled up! We got back to the ferry about 15 minutes before the last one.

The next morning when we got to Belize City Donald was there this time. He is the cave tubing and zip line adventure specialist. We drove about 25 minutes on the western highway and met an accident. We were there for about 10 minutes. The traffic was very long. There were a lot of cars ahead of us. Donald drove the van off the road to the front of the long line. He got out of the van and spoke to one of the police officers. When he return he said that they will allow him to drive if his vehicle is high enough to drive off the road. Well, we drove off the road and the rest of the vehicles were still there in long line. That was when told us thet he was a part of the Police Department for a few years. God knows that it is good to be hooked up with the right people. When we got the site the river was little high so we did the cave tubing part of the tour first. When we were finishing a group was attempting to cross the river and Donald told them that it is not a good idea. We then got into some dry clothes and headed to the zip line site. This was the best part of the tour. After the zip line we stopped at the Belize zoo since it was offered free. It was a full day of fun fun fun!

For the Tikal tour donald suggested that we sleep in Belize City for two day. So our last two days we spent on the mainland. We spent 4 hours on the site, and it was a top of the line tour. It was detail tour. Julio guided us on site and he has the facts together. Donald did presentations on Indian History and compares different site to Tikal and their relation. It was team work at its best.

We stayed at a B&B that Donald recommended. It is a comfortable environment. Ottis and Abi were very nice to us.

Had a Blast in Belize!
