4/11/12--Got a call from Mr Bill Johnston from Tampa,Florida. Bill is 82 yrs young and has been fishing just about everywhere imaginable. Bill has caught just about every species with fins but he had never caught a bull redfish......until yesterday! Bill found his way to the end of Hwy 315 and joined Chris and I just before sunset. We were in no hurry to leave the next day morning as I was sure the bulls would be waiting for us as usual. Mr Bill was pumped up and was like a 12 yr old boy looking to catch his first fish. Great to see the spark and desire to catch fish in this 82 yr old gentleman! It wasn't long before Bill was hooked up and getting yanked around the Blazer Bay. He loved every moment of his adventure as his largest red weighed in at 32 1/2 lbs. The other bulls were less than 30 lbs as 25-28lbs was the average yesterday. All the fish were released unharmed.It was a pleasure taking Mr Bill out on the water and I'm happy to say hes still on top his game when it comes to fishing. I look forward to his return!
