Hi Joe,
Get a bundle of high quality white sage and an abalone shell that feels comfortable to hold. Also, you should have a wide feather, like a turkey feather to fan the smoke. Light the sage at one end and fan the smoke over your target with the feather while holding the lit part over the shell. I usually say something while I sage like " let the smoke from this herb purify this (room, person, area)". That's about it.
