Re: International Icelandic Horse Breed Evaluation in BC

When will they be evaluating naturally gaited Icelandic Horses?

Re: International Icelandic Horse Breed Evaluation in BC

Hello Anita

Evaluation has something to do with breeding and quality.

Icelandic Horses are naturally gaited...the horses are born with the ability to tolt and pace.

The matter is,to show them when you want to ride those gaits and how you cue, to get the gait you want in riding.

How well they perform the different gaits, that is evaluated under saddle.
As well is evaluated, how well the horses fit the breeding standard, which is internationally accepted, also in the US and Canada.
The rules are Feif rules and international valid.

How you train your horse is 100% up to you.

I know naturally is the word in the moment, but what is more natural as a foal performing on it's own terms. This is judged August 4th and actually you should come and see for yourself.

If you want to know more please refer to the rules via http://www.icelandics.org
also at http://feif.org
I hope that helps.

If you want to know more about the event itself,
e mail me,please.
Regards
Erhard
