is vs has been

Hello,

Can anyone explain the difference between "is added" and "has been added". For example: A new feature is added....A new feature has been added..

Thanks,
Kenny

Re: is vs has been

It's all about the time expression that follows (or is understood).

  • A new feature is added every time you press a button.

  • A new feature has been added because you pressed a button.

Grammatically, they are both passive contructions. The first is set in the simple present tense; whereas, the second is set inthe past perfect tense.
