(appropriate term) pls. help me with this

Monica really had a talent and love __________, so their parents took off their pressure for her to go into a profession.

what's correct?

Monica really had a talent and love (for singing), so their parents took off their pressure for her to go into a profession.

or

Monica really had a talent and love (to sing), so their parents took off their pressure for her to go into a profession.

The answer is----->to sing
i don't know the explanation...pls. elaborate more.

Re: (appropriate term) pls. help me with this

I cannot justify that as the only answer. Both look okay to me.

love to sing
a love for singing

I even prefer 'for singing'.

Are you sure it's not loved to sing

Re: (appropriate term) pls. help me with this

I'm not sure either is grammatically correct. You could say, "Monica really had a talent for and love of singing, so her parents (not "their parents") stopped pressuring her to join a profession. Although singing is a profession, so it might be better to say they stopped pressuring her to become a doctor or a lawyer.
