How do these two items function in the sentences below?
In the following sentence:
My first wish would be to have good health.
What is the grammatical function of "would be to have"?
In the second sentence:
My wishes would have to do with health and family.
What is the grammatical function of "would have to do"?
Thanks!
I'm happy to be corrected on this, but I think these are conditional (type 2) sentences. I think there is an understood element to each (in brackets below).
(If I were granted one), my first wish would be to have good health.
(If I were granted them), my wishes would have to do with health and family.
