when do we use shall and will?

It's a great question. The answer is much simpler than most people think.

Will = of one's own will

I will go to the cinema. (i.e. I want to.)

Shall = of an obligation or duty

I shall go to the cinema. (i.e. I have to. My teacher said so.)
