prepositions in the middle of a sentence.

I know that I should not put a comma after a prepositional phrase that is: five words or less, and at the beginning of a sentence. What if the preposition is in the center of the sentence. Do I put commas around it since I could take it out of the sentence?

Re: prepositions in the middle of a sentence.

The rules on this are varied. If you think it helps your reader, you should. I mean put two commas or none (not one) if it's in the middle of your sentence.

We advocate this at the start of a sentence: Commas and sentence introductions.
