been given to.....structure of this phrase?

A student asked me if the following sentence is OK, "I HAVE always BEEN GIVEN to dreams that I have hope of achieving"
I suggested teh phrase is usually followed by a negative context e.g. " I HAVE always BEEN GIVEN to dreams that I have NO hope of achieving"

Can anyone share grammar rules for what follows "been given to" please?

Re: been given to.....structure of this phrase?

I don't think there are any grammar rules in this area, therefore both are acceptable.
