Recently, I saw am advert saying 'only 55$!'-But surely this is wrong? Surely the $ sign should go BEFORE the amount, whatever currency you use? Certainly, I always put it before, but CAN it go after? More importantly, am I making a grammatical error?

Symbols like $ and £ usually go before, but terms like USD and GBP usually go after.

So, it's £10 but 10 GPB.
