All of or All

Here's one I need help settling: "all of" or "all." I saw the post http://www.grammar-monster.com/lessons/all_of.htm but I have a lingering question: "All our products" or "All of our products?" The post makes it easy, use "all of" when using a pronoun. Use "all" when it's a noun. But with a possessive pronoun that is qualifying the noun, isn't it "all."

I've spent WAY too much time looking into this today. But the thing I keep returning to is the old TV show my aunt watched, All My Children. It wasn't All of My Children. Was it grammatically incorrect?

Does it even matter these days?

Thanks for your help.

Re: All of or All

It's all about whether "all" is used as an adjective or an indefinite pronoun.

There is a lot of leniency on this, but it's true to say you wouldn't use "all" (the indefinite pronoun) before a pronoun without "of."

The bottom line is do what sounds right to you. The world's grammarians haven't really got around to writing a proper rule for this yet.
