Oh dear... comma confusion

If you are looking for advice on the correct use of commas, don't follow this example:

"This is because, a preposition should sit before a noun or a pronoun."

There should, of course, be no comma in the above sentence. If it is a conjunction between two clauses, it helps to put a comma before the word "because", unless the clauses are both very short; however, to put a comma after "because" is just plain wrong.

And where did this unfortunate example come from? This site, actually...

I just came back to this comment of mine, and the tone seems very rude... Although the error is real enough, my post was supposed to be slightly tongue-in-cheek - sorry if I caused any offence!
