Is Facebook Ads Getting Too Invasive?

An article on our local Patch site is callied, "Is Facebook Ads Getting Too Invasive?" This headline bothered me, and I said, "Shouldn't this be 'Are Facebook Ads Getting Too Invasive?'" They answered saying , "No, the term itself is "Facebook Ads" not "Facebook's Ads". We aren't referring to "ads" as the plural of one ad. So "Is Facebook Ads..." would be correct in this case." But I still think it's wrong. When you go to Facebook's corporate website, they are using "are".
What do you think?

Re: Is Facebook Ads Getting Too Invasive?

I would say that "Facebook Ads is" is correct. It's the title of a system. Weird-looking singulars happen all the time. Look at this:

Cows in a field is a rare sight.

That's correct. The idea of cows in a field is singular. It's a similar concept to your "Facebook Ads" sentence.

Good question. Sorry it's not the answer you wanted.
