I need help please. Is there a rule to help me know where to break a word to see how many syllables it contains for example the word linguistics have 3 syllables where did they break it up? lin - guis - tics?? Regards Renata
It's a good question. I'm afraid I don't know of any rule that determines where the breaks should be. Some are easy: Cockatoo That's cock-a-too But some are harder: Ling-uis-tics / lin-gui-stics / ling-uist-ics Sorry. I don't know, but I would like to know!
