Elaborating one word

I am unsure the correct method to elaborate on one word, as one would when advertising.
This would be an example: "Steak: a man's meal."

I often see the colon used for this type of phrase. The rules for colon use say I need a full clause before the colon. How should this be punctuated?

many thanks

Advertisements don't follow the rules of grammar - anything goes!
