Nah, If I was that desperate for sex I could go and pound quite a few women nearby. I'm not one of those guys; however, I'm better than that.

The message above I sent to one of my friends when we were on this topic. He was talking about people getting more sex than me, and trying to insult me for it. My question though is about the transitional phrase. He swears up and down that I typed that message incorrectly. I think I'm correct, and he thinks I'm wrong. So I thought I'd come post this to a grammar forum and find out.
