College Mascot Names... Singular or Plural?

Should the mascot name be used as singular or plural when used as an adjective for a university's sports entity?

For example: Is it "Seminoles Football" or "Seminole Football"?

Even Nike appears to be confused by this:

or

Thanks, and look forward to reading your thoughts!

Re: College Mascot Names... Singular or Plural?

The simple answer is, plural.

I couldn't locate either website with the addresses given (Google and Yahoo), but I did access one site:

Spartans Bowling Gear - Get It At Dick's Sporting Goods!
So I think the other - Spartan Football - is a typo.

Re: College Mascot Names... Singular or Plural?

It depends on the team.
The name of the Florida State sports organization is "The Florida State Seminoles." One member is a "Seminole." This particular team uses the singular when discussing sponsors & boosters. But every team chooses individually. It's best to refer to the team usage to be safe.

I hope this helps.
