Need to know whether to use further to farther in the following context:

. . . symbols used by the Celtic and Brittonic societies as far back as the Bronze Age, or perhaps _____________ still.

Anybody know? The words "as far back" kind of threw me on this one.

Further will be the right answer, as farther is used to speak about distance.
