Passed or Passed is driving me crazy

Here are the two sentences that are driving me insane:

1. I often wheeled Sammy in her stroller passed the auto shops.
2. Sammy watched endlessly as the buses went through a huge car wash, came out wet, turned, and passed us by.

Did I use the word passed correctly in the above sentences? I'm confused with number one because the verb is "wheeled" but, it is in the sentence early on.

Thank you for your help.

The first one should be past.

Here is a lesson on PAST/PASSED.
