Oh dear, my big-time pet peeve!! Birthdays is PLURAL and does not require an apostrophe. When you use an apostrophe, you are either shortening a word by leaving something out (a contraction - do not = don't) or you are implying possession as John's birthday. In your example, you are saying there are multiple birthdays in December. Simply add an 's' to birthday to indicate plural.
