Compound Noun Usage in Company Tagline

I have a client that wants to change "Innovative Coating Solutions" to "Innovative Coatings Solutions". The justification is that they sell MULTIPLE types of coatings.

I like the original because "Coating Solutions" is a compound noun that - together - indicates there are multiple products/solutions available.

I do not believe changing "Coating" to "Coatings" adds any clarity. I also do not believe it sounds as good.

Thoughts? Opinions? Clarifications?

Your response is much appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Compound Noun Usage in Company Tagline

I can see a case for both here. And, I am 49/51 on it.

Imagine it were Innovative Paint Solutions.

If you consider the words Innovative and Paint as adjectives modifying Solutions, then it cannot be Paints.

However, if you consider the words Innovative Paints to be a compound adjective modifying Solutions, then Paints would be fine.

Sometimes, it's about messaging as well as grammar. I think Coatings is best. If some grammar pedant attacks, you tell them it's a compound adjective.

Yeah, that comma should be after "attacks you." Cheers
