Practise or practice

HELP!!!!

Can someone please help me - I have been staring at this sentence for the last hour and can't make my mind up about which spelling is correct.

Using the Grammar Monster example - I can insert preparation into the sentences - so am I right in saying that the right spelling is practice?

Magis is not easy. It is an art and requires practice.

Magic tricks need lots of practice.

"Practice" is correct. It's a noun in your examples, and has the same spelling in both BrE and AmE.

Here's a link to the Oxford Dictionary entry which may be of help:

Re: Practise or practice

Yes, practice is correct.

The tip in the lesson on practice/practise works well; i.e., the word practice can be substituted with preparation. (This tip works because both words are nouns.)
