I am or I is ?

I ,the head boy,am standing in front of you to deliver a speech or I,the head boy ,is standing.....?

Piece of cake.

Take out "the head boy" and you have "I am standing in front of you..."

Your ear should tell you that "I is standing in front of you..." is wrong.
