a different way to write...

Hi everybody,
In the sentence "each formula one circuit is differenti, but the races are usually the nearest number of laps"
"The nearest=similari"
how si it write in a differenti way?

Thanks in advance

Re: a different way to write...

Firstly, you don't even give the full quote.

"...each Formula One circuit is different, but the races are usually the nearest number of laps OVER THE 305 km. circuit."

From the other information then given - e.g. one circuit might be 5.5 km, while on another race track, a circuit is 6.1 -

use simple arithmetic to calculate the number of circuits needed to travel 305 km. ON THAT PARTICULAR RACETRACK. e.g. 55.4 laps. Hence, the nearest number of complete laps is given by rounding down to 55.

Re: a different way to write...

Pardon me,
So the nearest meaning also similar/more like and is it correct to say each english school is different but they are nearest number of students about over 300

Re: a different way to write...

No.

A lap is completion of the full circuit.

The Monte Carlo circuit is 3.328 km. long.
Brands Hatch circuit is 3.908 km. long.

The race at every racetrack in Formula One is 305 km. long. That is, a driver finishes the race when he has driven 305 km.

How many laps do cars do at Monte Carlo?
How many laps do cars do at Brands Hatch?

91 laps for Monte Carlo
78 laps for Brands Hatch

Now I understand that!!!
Thanks so much
