The reflexive pronouns (those ending in -self or -selves) have two main uses: one where they function as complement, and an emphatic use where they function as modifier in clause or noun phrase structure:
Complement Use
"Sue hurt herself".
"Sue was talking to herself".
Emphatic Use
"Sue designed the house herself".
"Sueherself admitted it was a mistake".
