Hello - I was recently told that in Technical Writing we do not need the 's for Operator's Manual. I can't find any information on this. Can anyone help? Thanks.

The usual rule is to use an apostrophe, but with technical publications and the like, it's perfectly acceptable to just use the bare noun "Operator".
