The Joys of Motherhood

Is "The Joys of Motherhood" right grammatically? Must it not be "The Joy of Motherhood"?

Re: The Joys of Motherhood

Well, there's nothing to choose really.

Both expressions are idiomatic, and there's very little difference in meaning, though "joys" is more widely used than "joy" according to the corpus I just checked.

EDIT: I suppose if you were talking about the overall pleasure that motherhood brings, then "joy" might be appropriate. But in a scenario where you were talking about some particularly good or bad aspect of motherhood, then I suppose you would use "joys".

Any mums about who could comment?

I would agree with Paul.

Depending on what you are talking about would define Joy or Joys.
