apostrophe with s

Is this use of apostrophe correct:

He will want to go out on a high with a treble of winners’ medals in his back pocket.

I think it's safe to assume that the "s" is possessive marker here, not just a plural marker. And it's only one person's medals being talked about, so -'s seems correct to me.
