What is the difference between Historic and historical?

Is it Historic fight ? or Historical fight ?

An historic fight.

The Battle of Hastings is an historic event.

An arrowhead found centuries latter, in the field where the battle took place, would be an historical find. (The arrowhead is not, itself, famous or important in history; but being part of one of the weapons used in the battle, has historical significance.)
