doubt about subject and predicate

i have a doubt regarding Subject and Predicate....

The sentence is ..."The book given by my uncle is very interesting"

in my view The book given by my uncle is the subject part and is very interesting is the predicate part. plz correct my if i am wrong with authentic justifications..ur help is awaited badly

Re: doubt about subject and predicate

The book given by my uncle is very interesting.

You are right: The book given by my uncle is the subject, and is very interesting is the predicate.

The subject usually appears before the verb and represents someone or something of which something is being said (represented by the 'predicate'). The predicate is the head of the sentence and includes the verb and other items like objects, complements and adjuncts.
